Canelo Alvarez was in Japan to witness the boxing show that starred the brother of Naoya Inoue, one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.

The Mexican boxer was in Tokyo to support Cristofer Rosales, who works with Eddy Reynoso, Saul Alvarez's trainer, but the Nicaraguan lost by technical knockout in round 11.

Canelo Alvarez dreams of fighting in Japan

Much has been said about Sheikh Turki Alalshikh's desire to convince Canelo to fight Terence Crawford, perhaps in Saudi Arabia, but the Guadalajara native wants to fight in Japan.

It had already been reported that Saul Alvarez would travel to the Asian country and it was speculated that he could have a possible negotiation to fight there.

It has also been rumored that they could put together a card with Alvarez and Naoya Inoue, the great Japanese boxing star and WBC, WBO and IBF Super Bantamweight world champion.

Will Saul Alvarez fight in Japan?

According to information that has surfaced in the media, Naoya Inoue intends to fight on December 24 in Tokyo against Sam Goodman.

During the summer Saul Alvarez even mentioned that he would like to have three fights in 2024, but after his victory in September against Edgar Berlanga he said he would be back until May 2025.

It is unclear when Canelo's next fight will be and if this trip to Tokyo was just to support Rosales and Reynoso or for a possible negotiation to fulfill his dream in Japan.
